I started my business in the mid 90’s and thermal transfer printing was a major component. Because of the importance of thermal transfer in my business I could not afford to have equipment out of service. After checking our local repair centers, it became apparent that factory trained Zebra technicians were a scarce commodity. Several companies told me their repair technicians were Zebra certified only to find out that their certifications came from in-house training and not from Zebra. As a result, I decided to personally enroll in a training course at Zebra to insure we had prompt quality repairs on our equipment.

This strategy worked well for several years but as my company grew I found myself with less and less time to do repairs. As luck would have it, during a conversation with Marty Swanson about a parts order that I needed to place I learned that he had been through Zebra training and his instructor was the same person that trained me. Since that time, our major repairs have been done by Advanced Automation. As a Zebra certified technician I know that there are certain settings and footprints that a quality technician will leave behind after completing many major repairs. These footprints are always present in the work I send to Advanced Automation and I have never had to re-adjust, re-tension or tweak one piece of repair work they have performed for me.
